Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a validation system, which is employed to prevent the so-called email spoofing where an email message can be sent from one e-mail, but to appear as being sent from another one, ordinarily with the idea to fraud the recipient someway. If SPF protection is enabled for a domain name, a unique record is created for it in the Domain Name System and all the DNS servers around the world have it. The record contains all of the mail servers that are allowed to send valid messages from an e-mail address under the domain. When an email is sent, the first DNS server it goes to verifies the SPF record and if the sending server is authorized, the message is sent to the target destination. When, however, the sending server doesn't exist in the SPF record for the particular domain, the e-mail message won't be submitted and it'll be removed. When you use this solution, it'll prevent third parties from sending spam which appear to have been sent from you.

SPF Protection in Shared Website Hosting

SPF protection can be activated for each domain hosted in a shared website hosting account on our cloud platform with just a couple of mouse-clicks. The option is accessible in the Emails section of our advanced Hepsia Control Panel and all you need to enable it is to select one of your domains from the drop-down list and enter the hostnames plus the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the mail servers that will be approved to send messages from your emails. As an added option you can even restrict the email messages to be sent from your domain only if it has our MX records, in other words if our servers manage the emails for it, not a third-party supplier. This solution will provide you with the best level of security, but it's not applicable when only your web site is on our servers while the email addresses for the domain name are handled in a different place. In either case, our SPF protection service will keep your emails safe from being used for spam and scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

If you have a semi-dedicated server account from us, you'll be able to secure your emails by enabling the SPF protection service for every domain hosted in your account with just a couple of clicks. This is done in the Emails section of our Hepsia Control Panel that is included with the semi-dedicated accounts and even if you lack previous experience with such things, you won't have any troubles to enable the protection. The only things that you'll need to do will be to select a domain name from a drop-down list and after that type in the mail server hostname and IPv4 or IPv6 address. When the new record propagates, messages from your e-mail addresses will be mailed globally only if they were sent from that server. If your e-mail addresses are handled by our company and not by some third-party provider, you'll also be able to benefit from an option for e-mail messages to be mailed only if the domain name has our MX records and the aforementioned would be the most secure option. If you have any questions related to thisfeature, you will be able to contact our technical support crew 24/7.
